OHIP Information
Comprehensive eye health and vision exams in Ontario are covered by OHIP once every year for:
- Patients up to 19 years of age
- Over 65 years of age
Most vision plans cover the cost of a comprehensive eye health and vision exam every two years.
Patients aged 20 to 64 years with the following are still possibly insured by OHIP annually:
- Diabetes
- Glaucoma
- Cataracts
- Amblyopia (lazy eye)
- Strabismus (crossed eye)
- Retinal Disease
- Corneal Disease
- Visual Field Defects
